Ed King, Director – Asset Management

Ed is a Director and co-founding partner of Carnegie Consulting. Set up the business in March 2006 with Guy Steel. Ed recruits predominantly mid-senior level analyst, operational and financial roles into the Asset Management, Hedge Fund, Fund of Hedge Fund and Private Equity space.

Prior to setting up Carnegie, Ed spent 9 years at a global financial recruitment firm based in Central London, as a Managing Consultant recruiting into the Asset Management sector. Ed graduated from Oxford Brookes University with a BA (Hons) in Business and Retail Management in 1993.

Outside work Ed enjoys skiing, rugby, travel and ultra-marathon running which has included him completing the Marathon Des Sables in 2009 with Guy. He lives in leafy Buckinghamshire with his wife and two young children.

Guy Steel , Director – Asset Management

Guy is a Director and Co-Founder of Carnegie Consulting, which he established with Ed King in March 2006.

With well over 10 years recruitment experience focused entirely on the Asset Management sector, Guy recruits key front office, marketing / sales and middle office professionals into these businesses, including those Asset Management companies concerned with the management of alternative investments (hedge funds and fund of hedge funds). Guy previously held a Senior Management position within a Global recruitment firm having established their successful Asset Management recruitment business, before leaving specifically to establish Carnegie Consulting.

Prior to this Guy kept the streets of Surrey safe as a Policeman following graduation from Southampton University with a BSc in Marine Biology in 1993.

Outside of recruitment Guy enjoys keeping fit and has undertaken a number of physical challenges including completion of the Marathon des Sables in 2009. He has a keen interest in most sports, cars, cinema, fine establishments (bars / restaurants) and travel.

Tim Green, Director – Real Estate Team

Tim has been recruiting finance professionals to the Real Estate sector for thirteen years. His clients are based both in the UK and overseas, and include Investment, Development and Real Estate Investment Management businesses. He has developed a large network of contacts within the sector, and enjoys offering a genuinely consultative service to both clients and candidates. He tends to focus on mid to senior level candidates (newly qualified through to Board Level positions).

Prior to joining Carnegie as a Director, Tim successfully started and led the property team at one of London’s largest, and most successful financial recruitment firms. Interests include: golf, architecture and design, deep sea fishing and sailing.

Abdul-Rasheed Mustafa, Senior Consultant – Fund Administration and Accounting

Abdul joined Carnegie Consulting in September 2007. Since joining the firm, he has worked closely with Ed King on finance positions, specifically for the fund administration and structured finance space. Having worked in this space for the last 4 years, he has built up a strong network of clients and candidates ranging from part qualified through to qualified accountants with a diverse skill-set.

Abdul covers roles both in London as well as offshore jurisdictions. He has placed both private equity and real estate accountants as well as fund administrators. More recently, he has helped some of our banking clients with their compliance positions.

Abdul has a thorough approach when recruiting for all positions ensuring that all candidates are properly briefed prior to interview. Likewise, he takes pride in receiving a clear brief from clients while helping them with a critical hire.

He worked as a researcher for a larger recruitment firm prior. Previous to this, he had a career in retail. He loves travelling, Formula 1, fashion, and music.

Lukas Kopec , Recruitment Consultant – Real Estate Team

Lukas works closely with Tim Green and recruits Part Qualified Accountants to the Real Estate sector. Whilst many recruiters do not spend much time with junior candidates, Lukas fully understands that many of his candidates will be tomorrows future CFO’s, and therefore takes the time to understand their career aspirations. Clients benefit from his thorough approach, and can look forward to meeting carefully selected candidates.

Lukas graduated from the University of Szczecin with a M.Sc. in Political Science. With a background in retail, administration and customer service roles over the last 10 years, Lukas has built up a wide range of experience and knowledge. Away from work he has a keen interest in the Financial Markets, keeping fit and spending time with friends.
